Clear Aligners in Jalandhar

Wants to have straight teeth and beautiful smile but don’t want to get traditional braces then Aligners are for you.

Clear Aligners are not visible but the covering fits tight on the teeth. These are less noticeable as compared to the wires and brackets related to other braces.

HOW DO THEY WORK?

They are a set of custom made trays for every person and designed to move teeth in the desired direction very slowly. During the first visit, the dentist will make a 3D image of your jaw as well as mouth using a scanner. Then a plan is formulated which  helps to map out the exact movement of your teeth using specialized software, where the future projections for better results and straighter teeth are computed and then the milling machine automatically custom fabricates the set of trays for you.
Based on the further instruction of the dentist, You will insert a new aligner every two-three weeks until treatment is completed. You are required to wear the aligners for more than twenty hours a day. On average, a person needs approximately 25-40 sets for complete alignment.

The aligners come with an advantage i.e. they are very snugly fitting which over a period becomes virtually a part of the body and hence causes no speech problems. There are no restrictions on eating and drinking any foods as you will be removing them before every meal. Aligners are to be removed at the time of drinking, brushing or flossing, or while cleaning them.

How are Aligners better than other braces?

The best and the most important thing that makes Aligners better than braces are that they are virtually invisible. People standing in front of you might not even notice you are wearing something on your teeth.
Unlike other braces you can even remove them during drinking or eating. Another thing better is that it has no metal brackets or wires that could irritate or hurt your mouth.
Also there is no need to visit your dentist regularly but in other braces if a bracket or wire comes you need to visit your dentist every time that might happen.
Clear aligners are more comfortable and provide better fit according to your gum line.

How long does the treatment take?

The time to be taken for the treatment depends on various factors like how complex your case might be, or how much space is there in your mouth. But generally an Aligner treatment takes around 12-18 months on an average, but you might start noticing the changes in a matter of weeks.

How often do I need to wear these aligners throughout the day?

For best results you should at least wear it for 20-22 hours in a day, at least during the first 6-8 months. After you start seeing visible changes it can be from 18-20 hours. You only need to take it while eating, drinking, smoking, brushing and flossing. You even need to wear it at night while you sleep.

Will wearing the clean aligners anyhow affect my speech?

Like any other dental appliance few initial days might cause you a bit discomfort. It may take a couple of days for your tongue to get habituated to the aligners in your mouth. Whatever discomfort or problem you might face will disappear in a couple of days.

How can I clean my aligners?

The best way to clean your aligner is by using a toothbrush and toothpaste and rinse them in water. Avoid using hot water for your aligners as it may distort the plastic

What if I lose or break an aligner I was wearing?

If any kind of thing like this happens let your dentist know about it immediately. The doctor will work out a plan with you to ensure that you remain on-track with your treatment. In doing this you might need to wear the previous retainer or the next retainer or you might need to order a new one.

Do I need to wear a retainer even after Aligners treatment?

Generally it is recommended that you wear your retainer after the course of treatment has been completed to prevent it from gradually shifting back whether it was done with braces or with Aligners treatment. But since every case is different your dentist will examine and prescribe you if you need to wear a retainer.

Will the treatment hurt?

No it will not hurt. But, yes your teeth will feel a little sensitive for first few initial days. But this only means that the clear aligners are working properly and your teeth are moving in the place. Discomfort is very mild and goes away quickly.
